How Tuesday: Chicken and bow tie stew

Sometimes you just want some good old fashioned home cooking.
So I gave my mom a call and asked her for her chicken noodle soup recipe.
This is what I came up with.
In the produce department we have a pound of carrots, a whole onion, 8 oz. of mushrooms, half pound of celery.
 Chop it all up...
Take yer time. It will be worth it.
3 pounds of chicken drumsticks. Cooked in olive oil with garlic-salt and pepper.
Half a pound of "farfalle", or I as I call it "bow-tie noodles"!
Keep and eye on the drum sticks. Rotate as needed and add a bitch of chicken broth to prevent them legs from burning.
Fill up a pot with water and dump all of the vegetables into it. Boil that for a while.
So I made 3 cups of rice. Which I found out was a shit-load of rice. To feed 4-6 people you only need like, one and three quarters.
Got all 4 burners going. Burn baby burn!
So I cooked the chicken for about 20 minutes, occasionally rotating the legs. Then I peeled the skin off and began deboning.
Make sure you separate the meat from the tendons, cartilage, bones, etc.
Dump your deboned chicken into about 48 ounces of chicken broth. I suggest you dump in the chicken grease too for extra flavor. Bring it to a boil.
Note: strain out the water from the boiling vegetables also.
 Boneyard.
Mix in your bow-tie noodles, cooked vegetable and stir that shit up!
Make your own bowl and add some salt, pepper, or even butter to make it even better.
 Sliced bread.
Add in some rice and you got yerself a stew!
Thanks Mom for giving me your recipe. Your the best. Love you.

EatFiend @ Hash House a go go

Went to the famous Hash House in the Hillcrest are the other day.
Located on 3628 5th Avenue in sunny San Diego 92103.
This place doesn't take reservations and there is almost always a 30 minute line out the door.
They offer free coffee to us while we wait outside in anticipation of savory breakfast meals.
Hash House was busy as a bee hive. They have a bar you can sit at. But I didn't bother taking any other pics of the crowded place. I was more interested in the menu.
$1 PBR's. Not bad at all.
Tall boy in a bag $5. Standard at any other hipster bar in S.D. but you don't get a bag.
I plan on trying this the next time I go. They alson offer the "O'Hare of the dog" which is a tall boy of Bud in a bag with a side of bacon for $6.95.
I went with something from the "Farm Benedict" category. All benedicts are served on a fresh split buttermilk biscuit with griddled mashed potatoes. I got the "Andy's sage fried chicken with fresh spinach, hardwood smoked bacon, market tomato, griddled mozarella, chipotle cream and scrambled eggs. $15.95
Also comes with fruit on the side. The chipotle cream was spicy enough to make me sweat.
I ended up taking home a bunch of leftovers. Those plates are roughly 15 inches long by 8 inches wide. Huge potions of food. Check out the menu and go there yerself. You won't regret it.

EatFiend @ Canada Steak Burger

"What you wanna Eat?"
That's the motto here at Canada Steak Burger. What's Canadian about it you say? I have absolutely no idea. Located on 3604 Universtiy 92104  they serve quality greasy juicy hamburgers. And excellent mom-pop establishment.
This place was pretty darn busy. We ordered our food to go ahead of time so we didn't have to wait. It was hot  like a kitchen in there.
No bullshit, you go up, order, and a few minutes later you got yer burger.
 Basic menu.
 Hard working people.
Just want to put it in perspective how big this fucking thing is...
PrivateWormTits and I went all out and ordered the gnarliest thing on the menu. We went for the Double 8 oz. steak burger with pastrami, gyro and bacon. A real heart clogger.
 PrivateWormTits couldn't be happier.
Thing was as big as my hand.
I eventually defeated it. Then I sat on the the couch afterwards.
Oh, I almost forgot, there's a strip club right across the street from this place. Go eat a burger and see some boobies!

Mandatory Bloggery

Out and about lurking in the streets.
Live hard Eat hard.
Random cat poster I saw up in Berkley.
Cheeseburgers and baseball. America, fuck yea.
Are you a seeder? Its a good way to kill time at the bus stop.
R.I.P. On to bigger and better places.
The heat has been unbearable and the sun unforgiving. I hate wearing sunscreen but I hat my face being burnt more.
 ???
Tim looking evil with a makeshift halo over his head. Down but not out.
 Free dingle-berries!
PrivateCos passed out. His shoes were on, so some light hazing ensued.
 Snooooooorrrrreeee.......
Walking beer. Man Man is such a rad band. Check them out. It like if a circus started a cool band.
This place is on 30th street a couple of blocks south of University blvd. Has a drive thru but I don't like how they put salsa fresca on everything. I went with the chicken burrito with cheese and sour cream only.
Stopped inside of Bar Pink for a beer. My chicken burrito was amazing. Definitely will be going back there.
Cherry coke and Jameson for the walk home is a tasty combination.
 Im a gay fish.
At Costco you couldn't get a more satisfying meal for under $4.
 GeneralPercy.
 Ya gotta pay to play.
The liquor store down the street from my house has 12 paks of Pabst for $7.99. Fair price.
Anybody wanna guess which bar this is?
It ain't no D'Angelos. Thats why I won't be ordering it again.
Ends with a burger.
